Piemontese Photographic Exhibition at Museo ItaloAmericano
Eighty photographs from the archives of some of the most important Italian companies including Alessi, Borsalino, FIAT, Lavazza, Martini & Rossi, Olivetti, Spazio, Zegna from the late 19th century to the present will be exhibited for the first time in the United States from November 5, 2010 through February 6, 2011 at the Museo ItaloAmericano.
The goal of this photographic exhibition is to bear witness to the evolution of the concept of labor and of the development of production methods, both seen as creators of our culture. These photographs, displayed in chronological order from the end of the 19th century to today, allow us to go beyond the confines of the industrial world and to discover fascinating people, places, and work – all important to the legacy and prestige of Piedmont, and Italy in the world.
Piedmont Industry - Photographs of a century of work has been organized with the support of the Regione Piemonte and the collaboration of the Associazione Piemontesi nel Mondo of Northern California and is curated by the award-winning photographer Niccolo Biddau who was recently judged by the Black and White Spider Awards Jury (made up of thirtynine of the most important decision-makers in world photography) as one of the best international black and white photographers based on his originality, artistic merit and style.
The exhibit will be at the Museo ItaloAmericano, Fort Mason Center, Building C, San Francisco, from November 5, 2010 through February 6, 2011. For more information visit: www.museoitaloamericano.org
