Liguri nel Mondo, Stockton Chapter presents 2010 Scholarship Awards

The Stockton Chapter of Liguri nel Mondo at its recent annual general membership meeting presented its 2010 Scholarship Awards, elected seven new Directors, and presented past President and Board of Directors member Ernie Podesta with a gift for all his years of service to the organization, now that his term has expired.

Five hundred dollar scholarships were awarded to Teresa Damilano and Gianna Garibaldi. The seven hundred fifty dollar David Canclini Scholarship was presented to Nicholas Morelli, the one thousand dollar F. M. Lucaccini Scholarship was presented to Christopher James, the one thousand dollar James E.

“Ernie” Podesta Scholarship was presented to Taylor Marino, and the two thousand five hundred dollar Teresa Avansino Cortopassi Memorial Scholarship was presented to Daniel Gherardi. Newly elected Board of Directors are: Judy Canclini, Alva Garibaldi, Gary Giovanetti, Joe Nomellini, George Piccardo, Jeanette Plotz and Ray Vignolo.

They will join President, John Podesta; Vice President, Joe Precissi; Secretary, Luigi Gherardi; and Board members, Doris Cortopassi, Ralph Lucchetti, Robert Maus, Jim Samuel and Steve Trucco. The Stockton Chapter plans four dinners each year for its members.
