Festa del Libro: A Children’s Italian Book Fair Extravaganza - October 01, 2011 - October 03, 2011
Discover some of the finest Italian children's literature available at the fourth annual Festa del Libro, a children’s Italian book fair extravaganza that will take place at the Museo Italo Americano October 1, 2 and 3 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Italian story time will take place on October 1 and 2 at 11:00 am.
Over 600 illustrated children’s books from distinguished publishers including Akra, Einaudi, Mondadori, Coccinelle, Emme Edizioni, Topipittori and more, will be on hand direct from Italy. With vivid illustrations and trademark Italian creativity. The selection on hand is ideal for children 0–10 and beginning Italian language students of all ages. If your child or anyone else in your family is learning Italian or is interested in Italian culture this is an event not to be missed! This year's event features additional multimedia materials, as well as works from smaller specialty publishers that are difficult to find even in Italy.
Festa del Libro was started in 2008 by Elisabetta Ponti, a Marin mom originally from Monza, Italy, who literally packed the offerings for the first book fair home from Europe in her suitcase! Festa del Libro is organized by PapilioBooks in cooperation with Book Passage.
New for this year:
In addition to story time readings of featured Festa del libro books, children of all ages will be treated to old-fashioned film screenings.
Classic Italian family movies will be projected on the “big screen”.
Don’t miss the memories in the making.
The film Totò Sapore will screen on October 1 at 4:00 pm, and the film La freccia azzurra will screen on October 2 at 4:00 pm.
Organized by Papilio Books in partnership with Spazio Italiano and Museo ItaloAmericano.
