Associazione Liguri nel Mondo holds annual picnic

The San Francisco Chapter of the Associazione Liguri nel Mondo held its annual picnic on Saturday, August 28. For the second year in a row, the picnic was held at the beautiful hilltop setting of Calegari Vineyards in Healdsburg, California. Members, Don and Patsy Calegari, again went out of their way to make sure that the more than 200 attendees were made welcome.

The participants were entertained by Santa Rosa’s own Coro Allegro, under the direction of Maestro Salvatore Peritore, and by George Campi and his accordion. The catering was done by the “Pasta King”, Art Ibleto, who prepared a tasty buffet of salads, pasta and meat. John Brattesani provided the attendees with an ample quantity of his “Bugia of North Beach”.

The picnic was capped off by a raffle of gift baskets, salumi and wine, donated by members. The entire event was highlighted by an abundance of superb red and white wine from award-winning Selby Winery. The group was extremely appreciative of the hospitality of the Calegari family who again made this event truly memorable.
