2010 Scholarship Recognition held at the Italian American Cultural Center in San Jose
On Sunday, July 18, 2010, an event was held to honor the 2010 IAHF Scholarship recipients. This year, 26 outstanding and deserving graduating seniors within Santa Clara County applied but unfortunately only 5 scholarships could be awarded. Scholarship funds are received from individual donors and also from profits made at the IAHF Festa held every year. This event was enjoyed by more than 200 people in attendance. A variety of activities were planned for both young and old to enjoy such as bocce games, line dancing instruction, and regular dancing. An outstanding group of volunteers organized and implemented this very successful event.
Congratulations to members of the Italian Class and their spouses or friends for their high energy, cheery smiles, and hardwork: Linda Filice, Jo Ann and Roger Bjornstad, Sabrina and Mitch Magnisi, Judy Calegeri, Clare and Tony Cedolini, Corrine Tomeo, Ralph and Ruth Di Tullio, Kathy, Whitney and Jackie Harris, and Richard Zamar. The BBQ was cooked to perfection thanks to great chef Ken Borelli and his crew: Rich Daulton, Andrew Pane, Joseph Borelli, Norma Mestice and Carmella Gaullo. Special thanks to Ghiggeri and Stonebarger Farms for donating the most sweet and tender corn.
