Interactive workshop in San Diego for parents of bilingual children
The Italian Cultural Center is proud to present an interactive workshop on bilingualism. Simona Montanari, professor at the Department of Child and Family Studies at California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), will give a seminar in English targeted at parents of children exposed to English and Italian since birth.
Prof. Montanari will explore basic themes related to simultaneous bilingual development as opposed to monolingual learning. Participants will learn about the timing and the features of simultaneous bilingual acquisition, benefits in the child’s develop- ment and how to maximize language skills in early childhood. Saturday, April 24, 2010 2:00pm – 4:00pm. The workshop will be held by the Washington Elementary School, 1789 State Street, San Diego, CA 92101.
Cost: $20 per person / $30 per couple (non refundable fee – registration is confirmed with payment). The workshop is designed for parents only. No children will be admitted in the classroom. Sorry, no babysitting available on site. We apologize for the inconvenience.
