Picnic
by the Lake by F.I.L.
How
do I start to relate what an outstanding family picnic the members of
Families of Italian Lineage had on Sunday, July 8th at the beautiful
Regional Park in Laguna Niguel.
Some
of the guests said that the huge turnout was due to this perfect location;
spacious well groomed areas of grass, perfect for the many Bocce enthusiasts,
walking trails and scenic lake.
This
event was chaired by Dolores Parsch. She was incredible in planning
a perfect day. She chose men to barbecue over 110 steaks, fresh home
made beans, antipasto salad, rolls, drinks and dessert. She was truly
a great organizer!
Family friendliness is the recurrent theme for FIL and everyone seemed
to be basking in its glow. Many members remained until closing time,
7 PM, but first they had pizza foccaccia, biscotti and of course freshly
brewed espresso, with beautiful Italian music in the background.
FIL'S
next event will be on August 25. A limousine type bus will take members
to San Diego Museum of Natural History to see the Dead Sea Scrolls which
are being displayed from Israel.
Also
on September 9th, this very active club will have its last picnic of
the summer season. For information, 949/363-5348.
