Day Observed October 6 in Orange County
Santa Ana - The Italian Arts Council of the Bowers Museum and the Orange
County American Italian Renaissance Foundation will again be sponsoring
the annual Orange County Columbus Day Celebration on Saturday, October
6 at 10:00 AM in the Bowers Museum of Cultural Arts courtyard in Santa
Ana.
Chairman
David Prisco has planned an interesting and patriotic program in honor
of the explorer which includes musical entertainment, presentation of
flags by Knights of Columbus, Columbus Day remarks by Russell Rametta,
national board member of the Commission for Social Justice, special
guest appearance by the newly appointed Italian Consul General Nicola
Faganello and an Italian heritage presentation to the Fondazione Italia
organization President Paolo Miliozzi for his efforts to preserve our
Italian language through programs for both adult and school age students
in Orange County.
Remarks
by Grand Lodge President Order Sons of Italy Joseph La Banca and Renaissance
Lodge President Tom Rizzo will be given. A brief wreath ceremony at
the Columbus Monument in the courtyard will also be conducted. Refreshments
for everyone will follow the program.
