Welcome reception for Consul General Giuseppe Perrone

On Monday, Oct. 24th an evening reception was held welcoming the new Consul General from Italy to Los Angeles. The event took place at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura and was hosted by Federated Italo-Americans, COM.IT.ES and the Marisa Antonini Foundation. Greeting arriving guests were Federated President, Rosemarie Biagetti Vanderhaar, COM.IT.ES President, Piero Tarantelli and Marisa Antonini. A short program opened by Istituto Director, Alberto Di Mauro was held in the theater.

Director Di Mauro welcomed everyone and after some brief comments introduced the Federated President. President Biagetti-Vanderhaar thanked everyone for coming and then introduced the Consul General, Min. Plen. Giuseppe Perrone. The Consul thanked everyone and expressed his appreciation for the warm reception given him and commented that he is looking forward to working with the Italian community. Closing the program, Marisa Antonini presented the Consul General with a beautifully wrapped book entitled “Red, White and Green”.

Afterwards the guests adjourned to the reception area where they were served delicious mini sandwiches, pastry wrapped small sausages and pastries from Viktor’s Bakery along with selected wines and Asti Spumante.
