Hollywood welcomes the Feast of San Gennaro
From Friday, September 24th to Sunday September, 26th the San Gennaro Feast of LA will offer three days of enjoyment for the entire family. Just like the 80 plus year old New York City tradition, the Feast of San Gennaro LA celebrates Italian culture, food and entertainment, and features live Connie Stevens music, street performers, strolling musicians, a kid's corner, many rides and games.
Guests will enjoy wine and food sampling from local wineries and LA's best Italian restaurants; they will be invited to learn recipes from the cooking stage, play bocce and bingo with some of Hollywood's Italian American celebrities and will be entertained by a long list of musical artists performing on the main stage. The feast is produced by the San Gennaro Foundation, a non-profit organization established to help children and families in need in the Los Angeles area, upholding the principles that guided San Gennaro, patron saint of Naples, who worked tirelessly to help the needy.
The Feast will open on Thursday night with Prima Notte, a gala fundraiser hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, featuring and old-fashioned USO show with Pete Jacobs Wartime Radio Review. The theme of this year's event is to pay tribute to the Italian American experience: The War Years – recognizing the outstanding efforts by Italian Americans during the war and highlighting Italian American entertainers who have entertained the troops from WWII to the present.
Connie Stevens and Robert Davi are this year’s honorees and will receive the San Gennaro Foundation’s Award during Prima Notte. Robert Davi A live USO show will be sent to the troops in the Middle East during the four days of the Feast.
