Families of Italian Lineage’s Picnic
On September 18, FIL held the final picnic for 2011. As usual it was a great success. The beauty of its location included watching men fishing in the large lake and children playing nearby. Chairpersons Franca Masdea, Mary Pizel and JoAnne Waller chose a new menu. It consisted of charbroiled chicken, penne alla marinara, antipasto-type salad, homemade ricotta (by Franca Masdea), assortment of fresh fruit and a dessert “to die for”. All in all everything was “First Class”. Many of those attending were new members who were very excited to participate in all the activities that FIL offers during the year.
Besides social gatherings, dinner dances, bus trips, picnics, and cultural events, the MAIN reason for FIL is to inform all members of the GREAT MEN AND WOMEN who were or are ITALIAN and what they contributed to the world. Most Italian Americans don’t “have a clue” how great their Italian Heritage is. A monthly leaflet is sent to all members naming these great italians and what their contribution has been or is now. FIL’s next event will be
Dinner Dance (Costume or Western Dress) at THE HILLS HOTEL in Laguna Hills on October 16. For information, please call (949) 363-5348
