Families of Italian Lineage Christmas gala
On Sunday, December 18, F.I.L. held its annual Christmas Gala at the Crystal Ballroom of the Hills Hotel in Laguna Hills. What a night! I can’t begin to mention the extravagance of the entire presentation. The room was beautifully decorated and the table settings were very festive.
At 5:30 Tony Ciaramitaro (Sicilian Band) had a “drum roll” and the doors were opened to the magnificent room.
The members and guests were delighted to be part of this very popular social and cultural Club in Orange County. As the guests and members began to mingle it seemed as if the magic love potion had been dispersed among them.
Families of Italian Lineage is motivated to create a club where members could enrich their lives by exposing them to elegant social events, exciting bus tours, and also by informing them about the great cultural background of Italian history.
The menu consisted of filet mignon or salmon with “all the fixings”. To top this, the staff of The Hills Hotel had a dessert bar which included warm peach cobbler plus vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. What a treat!
Who was in charge? Camille and Robert Szymczak and they knew how to please the herd of party-goers. Their expertise in planning the evening was evident.. New and prospective members stated that this event was one of the most uplifting experiences that they have had and want to come back to such an intimate setting. They found that F.I.L. Members were warm and friendly.
Frank Negri (long time member) donated a limited edition of the map of Italy beautifully framed in gold. All the members received a free ticket, and Chairlady Camille Szymczak picked the winner who were, Mr. & Mrs. Santo Redivo.
And so ends a great 2011. Can 2012 be any better??? We will see!!!

About F.I.L.
The purpose of the association is to inform their members and their families of the great men and women who are Italian and what they have contributed to the world. New members are sent a leaflet titled Italian Culture, which contains the names of the Italians and exactly what they have contributed.
"F.I.L is a social group who enjoys the togetherness of Italians sharing bus trips, dinners, dances and picnics for just fun and socializing", stated Founding Director Venus Franceschi.
There are no Officers. The organization and events are guided by the Board of Directors who only meet when it is necessary to discuss policies or plan functions.
The F.I.L. members exhibited at the La Dolce Vita Italian Festival (in Laguna Niguel), where they displayed and explained the Italian Culture and the contributions Italians have made to humanity.
