Club Italia: meet your roots with fun and good food!
CHATSWORTH - Club Italia is really about having a great time. The Club consists of Italians from all areas and walks-of-life who come together to have a great time and celebrate being Italian.
Socializing, dancing, singing and of course eating Italian style are always on the menu. First time newcomers are always surprised at how welcoming the group is to all. “Come-on over and join us, welcome to Club Italia, how about some wine”? This is the mantra heard over and over.
It’s no wonder that the club fills to capacity the large hall at St. John Eudes at Lassen and Mason in Chatsworth. Did I mention the food? Great food, this is the real stuff, pasta, sausage & peppers, meatballs, and all the accompaniments you expect.
The group has been around since 1958 and has maintained a steady leadership that espouses the club's goal, “come and have fun, meet other Italians and enjoy the evening. They have a live band at every event, this time it was the" Carmen Frasca band". My favorite in the band is Vito Giovannelli who plays the guitar and can sing all types of music. Vito also is the owner of "Casa De Pizza" and a member of the Grandsons of Italy. At this meeting the new offi- cers were sworn in and began their official duties.
The officers were: President Richard Ravizza, First Vice President Paul Corsa, Second Vice President Ciro Errico, Treasurer Angela Di Mascio, Sergent at Arms and Corresponding Secretary Elaine La Monica, Membership Sigrid Ravizza, Recording Secretary Ofelia Corsa and Sunshine Secretary Pat Gerome. If you seek membership in a
fun Italian social club, contact Sigrid Ravizza for an applica- tion, 818-345-6953.
