America gains gifted Neapolitan tenor

To his many followers, the Italian tenor symbolizes romance, tradition and grand passion. It has been said that Italian tenors are as plentiful as the stars and as alike as pennies in a pond. I will agree that Italian singers are plentiful, but they are as unique from one another as they are many, with each one bringing something different of himself to his music. And that difference can be the magic that creates a rare and unique talent such as Neapolitan import, Pasquale Esposito.

Pasquale’s charm is an essential part of his charisma, a charm that comes to him naturally since he was born and raised in Naples, Italy, one of the most romantic cities in the world. Pasquale grew up as part of a large loving Italian family that has always supported his love for music. As a young boy he attended church every Sunday so it was only natural that he would feel a desire to express his singing talents with the church choir.

While living in Italy Pasquale sang at piano bars and small intimate clubs. Perhaps it was there, singing so close to his fans, that he developed the ability to reach the heart of his audience, indeed, the heart of every song he sings whether it be classical or contemporary.

Although Pasquale had four older sisters and a tight-knit family in Naples, he knew he had to immigrate to America to further his musical training. Although it’s always difficult to leave your loved ones and move to another country, Pasquale’s music desires superseded his apprehensions and he immigra- ted to America in 1998.

Upon his arrival in America, Pasquale headed to the heart of Silicon Valley, San Jose, California where he studied voice and music at San Jose University with the intent of attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, which he accomplished in 2009. His primary focus was in opera. Throughout his coursework, Pasquale received training from a world-renown faculty who developed his talents as an individual artist.

Pasquale represents a new and exciting world tenor, not one who is content only to perform another man’s songs and music, but one who came to this country to study music so he could compose as well as perform. His operatic pieces and crossover tunes such as the popular hit “Aria Leggera” from his latest CD “A Brand New Me” displays his capacity for singing the light and airy sounds of rhythm and bounce.

But also included on the same CD is another of his compositions, “Aria e Cielo”, a song that displays Pasquale’s powerful voice and the beauty of his creative words and music. This CD is his most popular thus far and is breaking records in sales and CD downloads. Yes, it's a new world for the Italian singer. He must market his songs not only through recordings but video as well. His voice, his looks and his music must appeal to all the video and CD fans as well as dazzling the audiences who crowd to see him at his live concert tours.

Pasquale’s musical choices embody long held traditions of the recorded Italian voice, but also contain many of his new songs that are so vital to keep the light classic love song alive. This new sound blends the classic voice we have come to expect from a well trained tenor with that of the modern, innovative singer. His love for tradition and for his new community of San Jose is very apparent.

Pasquale attends local fundraisers for the community's “Little Italy” projects as well as appearing in recent years at the local Italian “Festa”, to be held this year on August 28, 2010. On October 9th and 10th he will headline with his band at the Grand Italian festival in Reno, NV. Pasquale's latest hit CD, “A Brand New Me” was an international collaboration of talents. Pasquale and Antonio Aprile, a composer and arranger from Naples, Italy, wrote the music and lyrics.

The international fusion of cultures and musicians has resulted in a spectacular CD album. Aside from recording CDs, Pasquale has toured both in the US and abroad with several musical productions and concerts, including touring with the famous Italian pop star Gigi D’Alessio.
