Il Getty Museum e l'Italia - Dai palazzi romani alle incisione di Piranesi

Il Getty Museum si dimostra sempre all�avanguardia nella ricerca artistica e culturale. Il museo, tra i pi� famosi al mondo, � attualmete impegnato in diversi progetti: tra questi, anche l�interessantissima ricerca sull�esibizione dell�arte nelle abitazioni romane dei secoli passati. �The Display of Art in Roman Palaces 1550-1750� - questo il nome del progetto - va ad indagare i modelli secondo cui si usava �esibire� l�arte nelle case della societ� medio-alta e nobile d�Italia, e il modo in cui questi si sono evoluti nell�arco di due secoli.

Remembrance Day � 8000 Names to Commemorate the Shoah
A new initiative has been announced in the occasion of the Remembrance Day, established in 2000 by the Italian Parliament to mark the demolition of the gates to Auschwitz. The Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, together with the AJC American Jewish Committee, have organized a reading of almost 8000 names of the Jews deported from Italy and the Italian territories.

Italian community services' casino night
Italian Community Services has been working for nearly a century to help those in our community who need assistance to live healthy, independent lives. Through the John C. Riccio Educational Grant Program, we also strive to preserve the unique language and culture that has served us so well at a time when everyday living doesn�t necessarily reinforce such traditions and values. And though times like this, require the same degree of diligence and sacrifice as so many worthwhile goals, we can also -occasionally- enjoy just plain fun.

Procedono senza sosta i preparativi per la grande �Settimana Abruzzese a New York� prevista per questa primavera. La scorsa sera, la promotrice dell'evento, la vastese Rosanna Di Michele, ha organizzato un'anteprima presso l'"Enoteca Di Palo" nel cuore di Little Italy a Manhattan. Nella foto Rosanna mentre offre agli ospiti un piatto da lei cucinato: pasta trafilata al bronzo con pomodorini freschi e scaglie di ricotta salata.

Mentre l�ormai noto regista Emanuele Crialese si aggiudica il premio HP - Bridging the Borders al Palm Springs International Film Festival con �Terraferma�, un altro film ci colpisce. Si tratta di �Appartamento ad Atene�, opera prima di Ruggero Dipaola, che vede come protagonista la bravissima Laura Morante, accompagnata da Gerasimos Skiadaressis, Richard Sammel, e per la prima volta sullo schermo Vincenzo Crea e Alba de Torrebruna.

Italian Catholic Federation, Branch #67 starts off the new year with a bang!
ICF #67 of St. Peter�s is starting off 2012 with a big bang! Starting with bringing in the new year, new members, birthdays and La Befana visit. ICF calendar is full of activities and surprises. Every month we celebrate something. Our meetings are every 2nd Friday of the month at Casa Italiana, we meet at 6:30pm, dinner served at 7:00, cost of the dinner is $15.00 and annual membership is $36.00 per person.

Il premio � articolato in due categorie (�drama & comedy or musical�) e attorno a quello ruotano tutti i vip della serata di estremo gala. Il Premio Golden Globe (Golden Globe Award), detto anche in italiano Globo d'Oro, � il riconoscimento assegnato annualmente durante un pranzo di gala ai migliori film e programmi televisivi della stagione

Deposito: una mostra di lavori della Galleria del Deposito apre all�IIC il 6 dicembre
L�organizzazione artistica no profit LAND, in collaborazione con l�Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Los Angeles, � lieta di presentare la mostra DEPOSITO, composta da una selezione di lavori provenienti dalla Galleria del Deposito (1963 � 1969). Negli spazi dell�Istituto rivive un esperimento artistico di avanguardia sviluppatosi negli anni �60 a Genova, che evidenzia le importanti connessioni esistenti tra Eugenia Butler, rappresentante americana per Galleria del Deposito ed il ruolo determinante degli artisti italiani sulla scena losangelina di quel periodo.

Alla presenza del sindaco di Beverly Hills (Barry Brucker, ndr) e di alcune cariche istituzionali italiane a Los Angeles come Carlo Angelo Bocchi (Italian Trade Commision), riunite l�appena trascorso luned� per un intimo aperitivo, Matteo Gerevini, fondatore nel 2009 di �Gran Fondo USA�, ha dato appuntamento al 10 Giugno 2012 per un�altra edizione della manifestazione ciclistica a Los Angeles. Presente alla serata anche il produttore televisivo David Kohan, vincitore della bicicletta Colnago TT1.
